For Unity Hub I personally don't think that this is appropriate so my recommendation would be going with the transparent layer.ġ. It is typical for modal-like interfaces like dropdowns to render a transparent element over the entire interface behind the modal so that selectable items underneath it do not receive any mouse interactions. This is a bug because hover states are a visual design tool to indicate to a user that when they click the thing its associated action will occur. Observe that the item isn't actually clicked (although it may receive focus). Observe that its hover state visual design is applied. Hover your mouse over a button or other interactable item outside of the dropdown. New projects should default to being placed in the last-used directory. I'm disappointed to see that the bug where the Hub doesn't detect an updated Unity version of a project still hasn't been fixed.
